Warren MacKenzie Biography

Warren MacKenzie was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1924

Education: Attended Chicago Art Institute (interrupted)

Service: Was drafted into the Army in 1943

Post War: Returned to the Chicago Art Institute (resumption)

Marriage: Married Alixandra Kolesky (passed of cancer in 1962)

Studied: Studied with Bernard Leach at Leach Pottery in St Ives

Pottery: Establishes Stillwater after purchasing a farm (1952-1953)

Taught: Taught at St Paul Gallery and School of art (St Paul, MN), Walker Art Center (Minneapolis, MN), and University of Minnesota

Marriage: Married Nancy Spitzer (passed of cancer in 2014)
